Potty, potty, I need you!

I think it's about time to potty training with Iris. She started to grow interest in seeing me sitting on the toilet bowl and do my business. Yes, I know it might be wrong, but hey, I cannot leave her outside the toilet, she will scream and cry like I'm dying in no time. I even sit her on my lap while singing her a song and do my business. I should be proud of myself; that I am a multi-tasker! Every mother is! So I browsed through Baby Center and here is the checklist for potty training.

Physical signs

Is coordinated enough to walk, and even run, steadily. Checked!

Urinates a fair amount at one time. Checked!

Has regular, well-formed bowel movements at relatively predictable times. Checked!

Has "dry" periods of at least three or four hours, which shows that his bladder muscles are developed enough to hold urine. Checked!

Behavioral signs

Can sit down quietly in one position for two to five minutes. Checked!

Can pull his pants up and down. Checked! She tried to unbuttoned herself last night (er, no it was 5 in the morning. Thank God she was amused with the button for about 30 minutes so that I can have an extra sleep).

Dislikes the feeling of wearing a wet or dirty diaper. To the max! She started to point at her diaper whenever she started to feel weird with her bowel.

Shows interest in others' bathroom habits (wants to watch you go to the bathroom or wear underwear). Checked! She can imitate me wearing the underwear! What a great surprise! I can't help myself laughing out loud when I saw she did that. I thought I behaved, well my thought is so wrong.

Gives a physical or verbal sign when he's having a bowel movement such as grunting, squatting, or telling you. Checked! She points to her diaper.

Demonstrates a desire for independence. Checked! She get the Sebamed and tried to put onto her buttock and yes, as clean herself.

Takes pride in his accomplishments. Checked! She applauds whenever she can achieve something new. (Apalagi jika I puji "Wah Iris! You are so clever!"). Yes, she does take pride.

Isn't resistant to learning to use the toilet. Checked!

Is in a generally cooperative stage, not a negative or contrary one. Checked!

Cognitive signs

Can follow simple instructions, such as "go get the toy." Checked! (But still she can't follow the simplest one "Iris, stop breastfeeding!". She's addicted I tell you.

Understands the value of putting things where they belong. Checked! She discards her dirty clothes into the washing machine.

Has words for urine and stool. Checked! Tut = Kentut.

Understands the physical signals that mean he has to go and can tell you before it happens or even hold it until he has time to get to the potty. Unchecked! She still have no potty. We are waiting for that one from Ikea, someone has promised us to get that one next week. Remember, the shocking pink potty.

Iris, you are growing...Hug Mummy now Ris.

Wonderful Weekend Part 3

Yay, we managed to have a blast out at Gambang Waterpark last weekend! I bought you your first swimming suit and it is fuschia! Everyone went bananas, but I can't enjoy so many rides due to the bun in the oven. You love the water so much Iris. You tried everything, you did not afraid of the waves, so Bapak had to buy you the Ben 10 buoy. Guess nothing left to say, so enjoy the photos!

Ready to go!

Mummy, where's my oversized glasses?

Yayaya!

Well-planned school holiday. (Er, really?)

Iris said "Wow! once she saw this play area.

Staring at the wall - Part 1

I think I married to the right person with wrong profession.

It is so wrong!

Iris is a light sleeper. I guess the last thing she would love to do is sleep. It is quite hard for me since I need a good night sleep. I browsed through several websites on baby sleep patterns. And what shocked me the most is the way to make my Iris sleep better and longer at night. She is still breastfeeding, but my milk is not enough to make her full. Instead, I give her a bottle of milk whenever she wakes up in the middle of the night, with a little prayer that she might sleep until morning.

Guess what? It is so wrong to do that!!

Read the tip from http://www.slumbersounds.com: Tip: A bottle at night is a bad habit. It's bad for your toddler's teeth and her ears, and if it becomes part of her routine, she'll always need it to fall asleep, even when she wakes up in the middle of the night. Get rid of it now if you haven't done so already.

Oh my God! I must get rid of it now!

My, what I need the most is a husband!

Admission Part 2

I was admitted to HUSM. A series of admissions. Hate, hate.

For four days. Four not-so-miserable days. I had Iris taken care by my parents; and Firdausku Sorang to take care of me. That was more than enough.

I still bleed the blood clot the size of my palm. It was scary the time the clot tried to get out from my body, fret it would be my baby's little legs. Even peeing wasn't a simple act anymore.

This time, they knew the cause.

They explained. It IS cervical erosion. I heard they talked to each other "See, very bad erosion". As if I don't know what bad means.

They explained. It is cervical erosion and the causes are obvious: pregnancy hormonal change; trauma which I understood as seks ganas; and cervical cancer. I hope it was prior to the first cause, since it was way too far from the second cause, and I pray that it wasn't due to the third cause. But still they have to rule out everything and the Pap Smear should be done.

The Pap Smear. The word. Fear.

"All great people diagnosed with cancer"-me. But I'm not great.

I'll get the result in two months' times. For they don't want me to worry over it.

Who said I'm not worried? I cried and started to have bad thoughts. Firdausku Sorang married to another thing and that thing would hug and kiss Iris and her brother. Stupid.

For this time, I didn't lie.

I feared the risks.

I love that doctor. I will always do.

I didn't sign any from. Got into the car, and went home.

With no blood clot.

But with that crucial result of that fear word.

I'm waiting, docs.

Admission Part 1

I was admitted to HTAA.

For four days. Four miserable days.

I bled and they called it AHP. For I don't know what AHP is, the only thing I knew I was bled the blood clot the size of my palm.

They did the best but all they can say was "Undetermined Cause".

Best of all, they said I have an active baby. I saw him smiling and say "Help me Mummy. I want to stay longer in your womb. It is my 25 weeks and 5 days and I still want to grow in your warmth womb". Seriously I saw him smiling. So they gave me Dexa, a true pain in the ass. Dexa, the steroid to strengthen his lungs. Just like his elder sister, Kak Iris, she too was given the steroid. 'Both of you have tried the steroid; please stay away from it once you grow up'.

It was hell on the third day.

I missed Iris the most.

I annoyed loved ones.

I cheated the doctors. I showed them clean pad. I got caught.

I can't lie anymore. So I told them I want AOR; discharge At Own Risk.

They explained the risks. They really are professionals. I love doctors. I married one.

I signed the form. Got into the car, and went home.

With blood clot.

Stop worrying

...and start living!
