Tesseract Bubble

We were so keen to make a tesseract or square bubble just by watching a simple You Tube video. But it wasn't easy as it was. We've failed and we've tried several times by making a perfect square, but still the bubble didn't show up. Guess we need a mathematician to solve this out for us. Check out what we've tried.

What we need?
6 pipe cleaners
6 straws
Scissors
Dish soap
Water in a large bowl

What do we do?
 1. Cut the pipe cleaners in half.

2. Cut the straws in half.

3. Twist 3 of the pieces of the pipe cleaners together.

4. Put a piece of straw on each pipe cleaner.

5. Twist 2 ends of pipe cleaners together and continue to connect to make a cube.

6. Pour some dish soap into a large bowl of water.

7. Dip the cube into the bowl and observe the bubble.

Well, we've failed. I think our cube wasn't a cube at all! We were frustrated with our results, so we keep on watching the video again and again, hoping that we'll get our bubble in the next trials.
